The low rumble of her purr came from the depths of her gratitude as she leaned into the hands that carefully assessed her broken body.
We do not know what happened to Jersey before she came to us but, based on the age of her wounds, she had been living in pain for months. What we do know is that pain didn’t dull the beauty of her heart. She understood that she was finally safe and with loving people who wanted to help. She leaned in to that love with all her small being.
After a careful assessment of her injuries by our clinic team, it was determined that her left side needed a full re-construction, including an amputation of her left hind leg.
While Jersey may never be fully free of the pain from her past, she has never dwelled on it. Head butts, purrs, and a soft little voice that belied her tough nature were all the ways she thanked those who helped her.
We could not have helped Jersey without your generous support. We never know when the next “Jersey” will come to us in need. We want to say YES to every being that comes through our doors.
